So.. What'Cha.. What'Cha Want?

So.. What'Cha.. What'Cha Want?

I've got the equipment. I've got the time. I'm learning the skills and getting more comfortable seeing my own mug staring back from the small screen. Now, I just need an idea of what you guys are interested in seeing from me.

I've got a couple of ideas rattling around in my noggin about the types of videos I might produce for my social media hamlet (it's not really an 'empire' or anything.) I'm limiting the overall scope to spheres surrounding art, craftsmanship and woodworking. I won't be discussing religion, politics, or deeply obscure diagrams of Great Ones.

I could talk about my creative process, influences, and inspirations. I could offer a dive deep into making specific wooden whatnots, like dice trays, gift boxes, or mimics. I could talk about the difficulties of being a creative person working through OCD, imposter syndrome, and/or fibromyalgia. I could talk at length about the tools I use and how I do so without losing something of myself in the process (like a finger... use a push stick people!)

But, all of that effort might be nothing more than me screaming out into the vast interwebs; A singular, although beautiful, deeply arousing one, destined to be continually overwhelmed by the flood of soulless tool reviews and AI slush if I don't focus on the curiosities of those you happen to find their way into my orbit.

So, put simply, what type of things would you like to see from me? What type of things would interest you? What problems could I help puzzle out? What mental sustenance, what inspiration, could I assist you in finding?

So.. What'Cha.. What'Cha Want?

Matthew Holtmeier

Matthew D. Holtmeier is an artist and woodworker crafting under the name Gathering Splinters. His artistry and craftsmanship are heavily influenced by his love of all things fantasy and many hours spent playing roleplaying games.

Matthew brings this love of gaming and fantasy into his woodworking and crafting of things like dice trays and keepsake boxes. Aside from functionality and durability, beauty and artistry are a main focus of his work. In the past, his woodworking has incorporated embellishments, such as pyrography and carving, which helps set it apart from other crafters.
