Gamers Giving Memorial Plaque Expansion

Gamers Giving, a nonprofit that assists the gaming community when its members are in need, asked that I expand their memorial plaque. The original measured 12” x 15” and had run out of room for additional name plates. Made from walnut to match the original material, the expansion does not mar the original (save for two screw holes) and is removable. In addition, I designed and crafted an attached, collapsible stand. Overall dimensions of finished project are 24” x 17”.

Matthew D. Holtmeier is an artist and woodworker crafting under the name Gathering Splinters. His artistry and craftsmanship are heavily influenced by his love of all things fantasy and many hours spent playing roleplaying games.

Matthew brings this love of gaming and fantasy into his woodworking and crafting of things like dice trays and keepsake boxes. Aside from functionality and durability, beauty and artistry are a main focus of his work. In the past, his woodworking has incorporated embellishments, such as pyrography and carving, which helps set it apart from other crafters.
